Around 40 Italian companies are showcasing their latest offerings at the Dubai Airshow, the bi-annual exhibition dedicated to the aerospace industry, being held in Dubai, UAE.

The event which opened on November 17 will run until November 21 at the Dubai World Central.

The Italian Trade Agency pavilion at the show was officially opened. In attendance were the government officials, Nicola Lener, the Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, Valentina Setta, Consul General of Italy in the UAE, and Amedeo Scarpa, Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan, said a statement.

They were also joined by representatives from the Secretariat General of Defense and National Armaments Directorate, a government organisation representing the Italian defence industry internationally.

The Italian Trade Agency supports nine of these highly specialised Italian manufacturers showcasing the latest technologies, designed to solve today’s aviation and aerospace sector challenges.

At the Italian Trade Agency collective pavilion, aerospace trade professionals will see products and services including: high performance equipment for aircrafts, satellites, radar equipment and space launchers, innovative aerospace equipment for space travel, complex mechanical components, electronics manufacturing solutions and services, precision mechanics and design.

Amedeo Scarpa said: “Our participation in the most important aerospace event in the UAE is a testament on our firm belief that partnership and knowledge sharing are key to thrive in any industry.”

“The UAE aviation sector is a crucial contributor to the country’s growth, currently contributing approximately 15 percent to the UAE’s overall GDP,” he said.

“We take pride in our talents and technological advancements in many fields of the aerospace industry. And this helps us facilitate business processes and provide consultancy on strategic investments, with a special attention to SMEs,” he added.

Scarpa continued: “For the first six months of 2019, Italy’s aviation and aerospace export globally is worth over €3.60 billion, with a growth of 7.6 per cent and a surplus of €1.70 billion.”

“The Italian Trade Agency plays a vital role in establishing and expanding homegrown Italian firms abroad; and the Dubai Airshow is a platform that will drive our mission. We look forward to creating more opportunities in the thriving aviation sector of the UAE, and the wider region as well,” he added.

The high-tech integrated systems offered by the Italian aerospace experts are presented at the Italian Trade Agency pavilion. Set to be the biggest show since its launch, the Dubai Airshow 2019 features 1,300 exhibitors from 63 countries and 165 aircraft on display, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
