Dubai, UAE: As the world embraces the new normal, Zulekha Hospital and OYO, a global hotel chain realize the need to continue educating masses on the significance of maintaining good personal hygiene and clean environments, and to encourage every individual to continue being responsible for ourselves and others in our communities. This follows the recent launch of OYO Sanitized Stays, a comprehensive hygiene protocol to step up vigilance measures pre and post-check-in and throughout its customer journey to curb any potential spread of infections including COVID-19.

Just as we see the number of COVID-19 cases going down by the day, we are hopeful the UAE and other global nations will soon have a vaccine to curb the disease. Meanwhile, corporate organizations stand together and realize their social responsibility to mitigate risks, repeat and remind masses of the new norm that can keep them and others safe.

Managing Director of Zulekha Healthcare Group Taher Shams said, “We intend to be with all beyond this crisis to educate, and engage in helpful conversations that will serve as constant reminders to one and all who are responsible to protect this world. Being a part of the service industry, it is imperative that hotels and hospitals maintain high standards of infection control.”

“As a brand committed to offering safe accommodation options, OYO is proactively leading the change in housekeeping and cleanliness protocols within the hospitality industry, across all OYO properties. In this industry, maintaining the trust and confidence of guests is key - and this is reflected in the guest-first approach OYO is taking through our new protocols, in order to provide reassurance and peace of mind to guests,” said Manu Midha, Head, Middle East, OYO.

Reminders to Patrons and Staff

Touch points such as door knobs, lifts, furniture are constantly being cleaned and sanitized. The food service departments have been encouraged to maintain high cleanliness standards by using personal protective equipment, masks and gloves where necessary. Door and windows are being kept open where possible to ensure good air circulation. Restaurants and receptions are taking extra care to clean up the spaces between seating. Likewise, the hospital facilities are being sanitized and all infection control protocols strictly maintained to ensure patient safety. Guests occupying OYO properties are given extra services to ensure utmost comfort. Any sick guests are guided and supported to seek the required medical assistance without delay. To ensure that social distancing is continuously observed, reminder signs are placed in locations with higher foot traffic such as the reception and lobby, in lifts and lift lobbies, and in restaurants.

To raise awareness on this important subject a number of safety and cleanliness measures are being driven across properties and healthcare facilities. The hotel chain hosts webinars on essential health matters and mental wellness together with specialists from Zulekha Hospital as awareness initiatives. Safety and hygiene reminders are also shared across social media channels of both partners.
