Government of Dubai Media Office – In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and as part of the Emirati Humanitarian Day celebrations, the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament has launched the annual Sports Fingerprint (Limitless Abilities) Award to honour individuals and institutions who spread positive values in society through their humanitarian work in the sports sector.

Launched in collaboration with the Watani Al Emarat Foundation, the Award recognises individuals and institutions who have made exceptional contributions to the nation and community through distinctive humanitarian initiatives.

The winners of the Award will be honoured during the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament under the umbrella of Watani Al Emarat’s ‘Humanitarian Work Awards’, which bears the slogan ‘That’s What Zayed Used to Love’. The award ceremony coincides with the ‘Emirati Humanitarian Day’ that is commemorated annually on the 19th day of the Holy Month of Ramadan to mark the death anniversary of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The NAS Sports Tournament, which takes place during the Holy Month of Ramadan every year, is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and organised by the Dubai Sports Council.

The aim of the Award is to promote positive values in the UAE by spreading the culture of humanitarian work. The Award also seeks to motivate individuals and institutions in the sports sector to set an example in the field of charity. The Award is aligned with the strategy of the UAE and ‘Vision UAE 2071’, which espouses the core values of tolerance, cohesion and respect.

The award has been launched under the slogan, ‘Responsibility for Humanitarian Action in the Sports Sector’, and the nominees can be involved in various voluntary activities that seek to achieve humanitarian, economic and social objectives, or create a positive impact on the sporting sector.

To be eligible for the Award, individuals and institutions should submit an application highlighting the tangible benefits their work has brought to the nation and society, and outline how their efforts meet the criteria of the Award and the UAE’s national strategy. The work of the candidate should have been documented, implemented or applied during the submission period, and should be consistent with human values and ethics and contribute to the enrichment of the sports sector.
