Dubai's luxurious Burj Al Arab Jumeirah to host second edition of this exclusive event featuring up to 50 of the world's most iconic rare classics and modern bespoke cars

Gulf Concours 2017 to attract discerning car collectors and enthusiasts from across the region and beyond, in association with presenting partner Vacheron Constantin

Dubai, UAE – Some of the world’s most exotic cars will once again be assembled at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah when Gulf Concours returns to Dubai.

The region’s most prolific car collectors and connoisseurs have been invited to this year’s Gulf Concours 2017 event to view a stunning collection of exotic, rare and priceless vehicles.

The invite-only event, to be held on the lawns of the world’s most luxurious hotel from December 7-9, will showcase the pinnacle of automotive design, style and performance.

Up to 50 luxurious vehicles will be on show, ranging from early 20th century classics, such as a 1922 Mercedes SSK, an ultra-rare 1936 Cord, and a 1951 Series 1 Land Rover, similar to the rugged 4x4s that were used to explore the deserts of the UAE and beyond.

Classic mid-century sports cars will be well represented at this year’s Gulf Concours, with prestige marques such as Jaguar, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Lancia and Lamborghini all on display.

Complementing the classics will be a selection of new cars from official automotive partners Rolls-Royce, Jaguar Land Rover, Bentley, Porsche, Aston Martin and specialist Ferrari dealer Talacrest, which will display a 1959 Ferrari California Spider – one of the world’s most expensive classics – all of which are sure to have the attendees reaching for their smartphones as they wander the lush grounds of the Burj Al Arab’s new North Terrace.

The exclusive weekend is supported by presenting partner Vacheron Constantin, which will display limited edition pieces from its bespoke collection at the event, marking the synergy between bespoke haute horologie and luxury automotive engineering.

Other key sponsors for the second edition include Jumeirah, Barclays Wealth Management, RM Sotheby’s and BTV. The FT How to Spend guide is the event’s official Luxury media partner.

This year’s Gulf Concours promises to be yet another intimate and stylish event that will enable lovers of exotic cars to mingle with like-minded fans of the world’s most luxurious brands.

“The Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel and Dubai are known the world over as centres of luxury, so it is only fitting that some of the world’s rarest classic cars and striking modern supercars are to be displayed on our impressive North Terrace gardens in December.

“We look forward to welcoming collectors and connoisseurs from the GCC and beyond to Dubai to enjoy this singular, prestigious event,” said Margaret Paul, General Manager, Burj Al Arab Jumeirah.

The Middle East’s most discerning collectors and car enthusiasts will be personally invited to this year’s Gulf Concours event, said Rory Heron, Director of Desert Gate Events, the event’s owners and organisers.

“This year’s Gulf Concours is going to be very special for those in attendance. With so many stunning examples of rare and classic cars on display, this year’s exclusive event promises to be unforgettable.”

Gulf Concours 2017 will also welcome a panel of distinguished judges who will cast their expert eyes over the cars on display.

The judges will include HRH Prince Michael of Kent, Sandra Button, Chairman of Pebble Beach, and Tim Scott from the Selection Committee at Concours of Elegance.
