Amman – Uber today announced a goal of reaching 100,000 driver partners using the Uber app in Jordan by 2025. The announcement comes on the back of the success the app has been seeing in Jordan, and the recent acquiring of the license by the Company.

On the back of its growth, Uber has been expanding to a number of cities around the Hashemite Kingdom. Today residents in Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, Salt, and Madaba have access to the Uber technology which provides them with reliable and affordable transportation at the push of a button in and around their cities.

Hamdi Tabbaa, General Manager of Uber in Jordan, said, “We are proud to have been able to provide tens of thousands of Jordanians with flexible economic opportunities through the Uber technology, and believe this is only the beginning of our success story in Jordan. Today, Jordanians in Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, Salt, and Madab have access to affordable, reliable transport and we are committed to ongoing growth and working with various stakeholders to see the benefits we can add to the economy on the back of Uber’s technology and platform.

“We are proud of what we have achieved, and are continuously working with the government on building technology into the transport sector, and to be in line with his Majesty King Abdullah’s vision of 2025 of enhancing the role of the private sector in the development process, and improving the transport infrastructure. We highly value the government’s cooperation and are committed to fostering our presence in the Kingdom and helping spur economic growth as we work to contribute 100,000 flexible economic opportunities to Jordanians by the end of 2025”.

Since launching in May 2015, driver-partners using the app has grown exponentially, making it possible for people around the country to have access to reliable and affordable transportation at the push of a button, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
