AMMAN — The Great Amman Municipality (GAM) on Monday received 30 dustcarts with the value of JD4,800,000, presented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Fifty per cent of the vehicles’ cost was covered by the EBRD while the remaining 50 per cent was granted as a loan.

Twelve smaller, electric dustcarts, valued at JD 204,000 were also granted, Petra reported.

Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh said that adding the vehicle’s to the municipality’s fleet goes hand in hand with international sustainable development goals, as they contribute to maintaining a clean city, safe workers and low carbon emissions.
