Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Sustainable City, the Middle East’s first full-fledged sustainable development, has achieved a milestone 99% occupancy in addition to significant improvements in energy and water use efficiency. These impressive results were highlighted at WETEX 2018 held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. This is the third consecutive year of The Sustainable City’s participation in the global event to underline its contribution to the sustainable development vision of the UAE.

Of the total waste, 84% was sorted and diverted away from landfills.. The sustainability initiatives helped avoid 6,741 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.
