James Norman joins the finest address in Qatar with a wealth of knowledge and an impressive career spanning over 23 years in the industry

Doha, Qatar - The St. Regis Doha, the Finest Address in Qatar, has recently appointed Chef James Norman as their new Executive Chef to serve their award-winning restaurants and superior culinary teams.

James Norman’s impressive career spans over 23 years of professional culinary experience across Europe, Middle East and Asia having worked for the Sultan of Brunei at the Empire Hotel & Country Club in Brunei and for Guy Savoy in Paris.

Prior to his formal appointment at The St. Regis Doha, James was Executive Chef at Siam Kempinski Hotel, Bangkok as well as previously holding the prestigious title of Executive Chef at the Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi, and Regional Executive Chef for Europe at the Grand Hotel Kempinski, Geneva.

Chef James also has under his belt an eclectic list of five star properties including the Mandarin Oriental in Geneva and Hong Kong, Burj Al Arab in Dubai and the Lanesborough Hotel and The Dorchester Hotel – both located in London.

In his role as Executive Chef at The St. Regis Doha, Chef James will oversee all culinary aspects of the hotel’s various gastronomic offerings which include: Astor Grill, The Club, Sarab Lounge, Al Sultan Brahim, Vine, Gordon Ramsay Mediterranean and Opal by Gordon Ramsay, the Raw Bar, Oyster Bay & Bar, Vintage Lounge and Hakkasan, as well as banquets and external catering.

A UK national, who is also fluent in Spanish and French, Chef James shows considerable flair and creativity in his work, with an eye for detail and presentation, equally at home with traditional classical cooking and innovative contemporary style.
