RIYADH — Ministry of Transport seeks to undertake new investments and implement an integrated transport infrastructure plan for Saudi Arabia, stated the Minister of Transport, Saleh Al-Jasser at the Budget 2020 Forum Tuesday.

“Saudi Arabia’s state budget will not impose a nominal fee on road users in 2020,” Al-Jasser said, adding that a total of SR400 billion were injected in transport and logistics sectors over the last ten years.

“Improving road safety, launching operations at Jeddah International Airport, finalizing King Khalid International Airport’s expansion project and launching other five airports in 2020 represent the ministry’s priorities,” Al-Jasser noted.

He also indicated that the ministry seeks to boost transshipment contribution to the ports sector, and inked an agreement to finance the Saudi-Egypt causeway project.
