Abu Dhabi: Sandooq Al Watan, the private sector initiative to boost the UAE’s social development, has announced the launch of a new platform designed to identify young Emirati talent. Aimed at parents, the new portal contains content designed by global specialists in the field of talent management to determine suitable candidates who can be included in future professional programs that will nurture and develop their skills.

Sandooq Al Watan’s website gives parents the opportunity to register their children grades 6 through 12 to test their cognitive skills and discover their potential in areas that include coding, aeronautics, applied mathematics and engineering design. The interactive initiative comprises a series of tests tailored to the UAE's cultural environment that identifies gifted students, particularly in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields.

The launch of the Sandooq Al Watan’s website forms part of the organisation’s strategic plans to harness the abilities of talented Emirati students, with those identified as having advanced skills then integrated into specially-designed intensive programs that will enable them to fully unleash their potential. Sandooq Al Watan’s ultimate goal with the initiative is to help create a sustainable knowledge economy in the UAE through the successful development of Emirati human capital.

The Mawhibatna initiative is one such innovative educational program that has been formulated to support talented students who show advanced scientific academic performance through the Sandooq Al Watan website. Providing an incubator environment, the program supports innovation and broadens the education system’s horizons to better the development of an Emirati generation that will have the potential to create a bright and sustainable future for the UAE.

The Mawhibatna program targets students in public and private schools and includes a number of two-week training courses provided by experts and specialists from around the world. The initiative aims to enrich students' knowledge, orientation and skills so that they can be the nucleus of a productive and successful society.
