AMMAN Jordans poverty rate is among the lowest in the Arab world, standing at 15.7 per cent in 2017, according to the most recent statistics available, Director General of the Department of Statistics (DoS) Qasim Zubi said on Saturday.

Zubi told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that international reports and standards, which usually rely on the departments figures, show that living conditions in the Kingdom are still far from extreme poverty, with the number of extremely poor individuals in Jordan remaining under 8,000.
