Riyadh – Mubasher: InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a Management Agreement with the UAE-based leading hospitality supplier, The Arabian Hospitality Company, to manage Holiday Inn Madinah West.

Under the deal, the 700-key property will be IHG’s fourth Madinah, according to the group’s statement on Sunday.

IHG already manages InterContinental Dar Al Hijra, InterContinental Dar Al Iman, and Crowne Plaza Madinah.

Holiday Inn Madinah West, located in one of the most frequented pilgrimage areas in the kingdom, will be in close proximity to Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Madinah, making it a great base for religious tourists.

“We are excited to partner with The Arabian Hospitality Company as we strengthen our presence in Saudi Arabia,” Pascal Gauvin, managing director at IHG in India, Middle East and Africa, said.

Gauvin added that religious tourism remains a major driving force of Saudi’s economy and we continue to strengthen our offering to cater to this important group of travellers.

“Holiday Inn is a brand known and preferred by travellers across the globe, and we are confident that Holiday Inn Madinah West will be a great success,” Gauvin concluded.

It is worth mentioning that IHG currently operates 33 hotels across 4 brands in Saudi Arabia including InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites with a further 20 in the development pipeline due to open within the next three to five years.
