Saudi Arabia's Knowledge Economic City Company, the master developer of Knowledge Economic City (KEC) in Madinah, announced that it has signed a 35 million Saudi riyal ($9 million) contract with local firm Mussad Al-Mutairi & Partner Company to execute infrastructure works for Al Alyaa residential project within KEC.

The contract scope includes construction of road networks, water, irrigation, sewage, firefighting and lighting systems, and linking them to the smart infrastructure implemented in the project area, the company said in a stock exchange statement.

It said the infrastructure works would be completed over a period of 12 months.

The statement said the 269,000-square-metre Al Alyaa suburb has been designed as a 'walkable' community with green areas, pedestrian paths and low-rise residential buildings.
