Oman's Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR) has floated a tender for the construction of two groundwater recharge dams.

The dams would be located on Wadi Al Sederiyeen in Wilayat Yankul and Wadi Suroor in Wilayat Dhank both in Al Dahirah Governorate. The two sites are situated about 250 kilometres south east of Muscat and 25 kilometres apart from each other, according to a public notice.

The ground water recharge dams aim to capture water run offs from the mountains in the Al Dhahirah governorate for benefit of Yanqel and Dhank towns, the notice said adding 15 July 2019 is the last submission date.
