Oman’s cultural attaché in the UK has warned Omani students against becoming victims of blackmail.

The cultural attaché tweeted that Omani students should not deal with anybody for work other than the Student Advisory Council in the UK and student associations, which are the only recognised bodies.

Students have been asked to be careful before exchanging information electronically since it could expose them “to potential blackmail through publishing of personal photographs or data”.
