Muscat - Oman Arab Bank (OAB) successfully concluded its participation in the Career and Training Opportunities Fair, which was organised at the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), on March 14-16. The Bank’s booth at the fair attracted a large number of SQU students wishing to know about the various career opportunities available for talented young Omani undergraduate students; while at the same time, the Bank showcased its human resource development plans.

Commenting on the success of OAB’s participation in the Fair, Ali Moosa, Head of HR at OAB noted, “The Career and Training Opportunities Fair, organised at SQU annually, is one of the most successful fairs of its kind in the country. Participants from private and governmental employment sectors are provided with an opportunity to meet with students directly and showcase their employment and training programs. OAB is a keen participant in the fair every year, introducing career opportunities available to the students directly. We are pleased with our interactions with the students visiting the fair, with our representatives addressing each of their queries regarding careers in the banking sector.”

The opening ceremony was held last Tuesday under the auspices of HE Eng Mohsin bin Mohammed bin Ali al Sheikh, Chairman of Muscat Municipality; in the presence of a number of government officials and representatives from the private sector.

Visitors to the fair praised OAB’s policies, which focuses on attracting fresh graduates to join the team and providing them with opportunities to grow as leaders in Oman’s banking sector in the future. Visitors also acknowledged the great effort put in by the Bank in training its employees.

“At OAB we strive to develop training programs that ensures maximum benefit to our Omani employees; preparing them for leadership positions within the Bank. This approach has taken us to the forefront of the Banking sector in the country with regards to Omanisation, with the majority of the executive positions within the Bank being held by Omanis. In fact, developing the skillsets and knowledge of nations within our workforce is given high priority within the Bank and is in line with the vision and objectives of the Board,” Moosa added.
