Ajman: Vehicle owners and motorists who have accumulated fines are eligible for discounts of up to 50 per cent on their outstanding fines in this emirate.
The generous discount in traffic fines was given under the directive of Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid AlNuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of Ajman Executive Council.
The reduction in traffic fines will be valid from November 26 till the end of this year to mark the Year of Giving and on the occasion of the 46th UAE National Day.
The initiative aims to lift the burden among motorists of traffic violation fees registered in Ajman.
He added that the initiative will maintain the public’s safety by discouraging violating traffic laws and regulations.
The reduction applies to fines committed before November 11.
Major General Shaikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, commander-in-chief of Ajman Police, explained that the reduction will include all kinds of fines issued by police, including impounding of vehicles.
The payment of the fines should be through smart applications of Ajman Police or the Ministry of Interior.
The smart apps are available on Android Play Store and iOS App Store.
The decision will start from Sunday November 26 and will end at the last day of this year.
