Switzerland has reported a surge in traveller numbers from the UAE, registering a total of 32,877 Emirati travellers from January through April, up 22.6 per cent over the corresponding period in 2017, said a report.

Up to 77,423 hotel nights were recorded during the same period, an increase of 20.3 per cent from 64,360 nights in the same period last year, said a report in WAM citing figures released by the Swiss Tourism Board in the (GCC).

During 2017, a total of 137,934 Emirati tourists travelled to the European country, a growth of 9.1 per cent over 2016, the report said.
