Prince Alwaleed: "This reaffirms the Four Seasons Hotel George V's position as the best in the world"

The Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris has further established its leading position in the global luxury hotel segment with the announcement that Le Cinq, its classic French restaurant, has been awarded three stars in the 2016 edition of the prestigious Michelin Guide. The announcement makes the Four Seasons Hotel George V the only hotel in Paris to receive both three Michelin stars and the Gault Millau 19 points/5 toques simultaneously.

The Michelin Guide is the oldest European hotel and restaurant reference guide which awards Michelin stars for excellence to a select few establishments. It is considered today the ultimate gastronomic award focusing on ingredients, technique, exceptional flavors, and overall memorable experience. A three-Michelin-star award means that a restaurant offers "exceptional cuisine" and is "worth a special journey".

Gault Millau evaluates all of the above with a greater focus on innovation and creativity and ratings on a scale of 1 to 20 and 1 to 5 toques. Achieving the highest scores on both of these awards confirms that Le Cinq offers the ultimate restaurant experience by providing exceptional dining with an innovative culinary flair.

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) which owns 100% consideration in the Hotel George V said, "This award serves as further confirmation of the Four Seasons Hotel George V's undisputed leadership position in the luxury hotel sector worldwide." HRH added, "As the sole owner of this iconic asset, KHC continuously reinvests in the property's infrastructure and service levels to ensure the Four Seasons Hotel George V remains the gold standard for luxury hospitality worldwide."

The three-Michelin-star Le Cinq is an exquisite dining room boasting beautiful views of the Four Seasons Hotel George V courtyard. Chef Christian Le Squer took the helm in the kitchens of the George V in October 2014, bringing 12 consecutive years of three-Michelin-star French haute cuisine. He created a new signature menu for Le Cinq that blends technical expertise with the pleasure of sharing and dialogue.

Restaurant Director Eric Beaumard is widely acknowledged as one of the best in the business and has won a string of titles during his 20-year career, including Best Sommelier in Europe in 1994, and was named Sommelier of the Year by his peers in Le Chef magazine in 2003.

Sarmad Zok, Chairman and CEO of Kingdom Hotel Investments said, "We are very proud of the Four Seasons Hotel George V management team, under the leadership of General Manager José Silva, who ensured that Le Cinq received its three-Michelin-star rating." Mr. Zok added, "The George V combines the most luxurious lodging experience with world-class fine dining, and all of this in the heart of Paris, steps away from the Champs-Élysées. There are few hotels in the world today that can claim this unique offering."

Prince Alwaleed acquired the George V in 1996 for $178 million. A two-year $125 million comprehensive renovation was started in 1997, and the hotel re-opened in 1999 under the management of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, reflecting the Prince's dedication to restore the glory of this iconic landmark. The hotel is currently in the midst of a EUR 50 million capital reinvestment program intended to bring further upgrades to its stately suites, F&B offering, spa, and meeting rooms.  As part of this program, Le George, a new restaurant offering Mediterranean-style cuisine designed for sharing, opened recently to critical acclaim.
