We have an important role to play, providing the necessary digital skills for startups and small businesses to survive, recover and deliver results online and offline. We are continuing those training efforts in partnership with Startup Without Borders, helping further boost a burgeoning start-up ecosystem targeting Arabic speaking diaspora in the UK to positively impact socio-economic growth, both in the UK and in their countries of origin.”

Hosted by Startups Without Borders, a global platform for refugee and migrant entrepreneurs, the sessions will offer tailored content for Arabic speakers, specifically for entrepreneurs doing business on their mobile. Workshops include topics such as “Building your presence online with Facebook,” and “WhatsApp for Business,” and will be hosted by certified international trainers on Facebook.

“We are thrilled to partner with Facebook to support entrepreneurs in diaspora. We believe this event will have a powerful impact on a community that has not only showcased immense ingenuity to start a business on their mobile phone, but also the incredible potential to innovate and add value to their new home country. Our hope is that their inspiring stories, coupled with training sessions by experts from Facebook will further support their business growth, ” says Valentina Primo, Founder and CEO of Startups Without Borders.

Alongside the training sessions, the event will host a fireside chat featuring Sudanese entrepreneur Nahla Omar, founder of Sukkar Cosmetics, and a Q&A session, where entrepreneurs in diaspora will be able to share their voice and raise questions to the Facebook team.
