Egypt - Egyptian Financial Group Hermes Holding (EFG Hermes) (HRHO) and CORPLEASE have acquired over 33% of the financial leasing sector’s market share during the period starting April until June 2021, Amwal Al Ghad reported.

EFG Hermes has topped the financial leasing sector’s companies in the second quarter (Q2) of 2021, with a market share of 17.33% and financing worth EGP 3.22 billion.

Meanwhile, CORPLEASE came in the second spot, with a market share of 15.76% and financing valued at EGP 2.936 billion.

Total financing provided by financial leasing companies recorded around EGP 19.13 billion in Q2 2021, up by 106.41% from EGP 9.292 billion in the April-June period of 2020.

Total financial leasing contracts reached 942 in Q2 2021, compared to 482 contracts in Q2 2020, with a growth rate of 95.44%.

EFG Hermes has a presence in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Oman, and Pakistan. It operates in holding and treasury, brokerage, asset management, investment banking, private equity, leasing, microfinance, and assets held for sale.
