DUBAI- Dubai's strong position in the field of land registration and regulation was acknowledged when Dubai Land Department (DLD) participated in the 20th Land and Poverty Conference, sponsored by the World Bank in Washington DC.
As a partner in the conference, DLD sent a high-level delegation focussed on presenting Dubai as a model for best practices in land rights, conservation, and development of regulations in support of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. "We are proud to have been chosen as the World Bank’s trusted partner and a preferred destination for consultation and programmes that help the region develop real estate regulations and systems. We affirm our readiness to provide our expertise to brotherly and friendly countries, especially as our Emirate has become a successful model in automation and the preservation of rights," said HE Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD.
The conference held five sessions on land governance, the Dubai blockchain experience, women's rights to land and real estate, real estate legislation, and a special seminar on the development of the Arab world’s regulations.
The conference highlighted the latest research, innovations, and global best practices on land management, which makes it one of the largest international events in the field. This year's conference attracted more than 1,500 participants from governments, academics, civil society, and the private sector.
