Thales, a world leader in transportation solutions and leading supplier of railway systems in the Middle East, will highlight its most innovative solutions at Middle East Rail Show 2016.

Providing a full spectrum of state-of-the-art solutions, Thales deploys critical, IT-based systems for mainline and urban transport, comprising signalling, supervision, communications, security, passenger information and fare collection solutions. Our global transportation offer is complemented by our competences in security, allowing us to prepare the digital transition to smarter cities for the future. The group, with local teams of technological experts, is engaged in numerous projects in the Middle East and is contributing to the vast development of the region.

A global signalling solution for main lines - ETCS

Thales's European Train Control System (ETCS) is the core signalling solution of ERTMS, the European Rail Traffic Management System for mainline networks. The ETCS standard is gaining global traction due to its success on the European continent. Specifically, Thales's successful presence in the Middle East is exemplified by our project for the implementation of ETCS for the 2,400 km North-South Railway in Saudi Arabia.

Making cities run smoother, faster - CBTC

With over 80 CTBC projects in more than 40 major cities worldwide, used by 3 billion passengers every year, SelTrac® CBTC is the world's most widely adopted and trusted system. Thales has equipped the red and green lines of the Dubai metro, the longest driverless metro in the world. It also delivered an automatic train operation system for the Mecca Metro. In Qatar, Thales is a member of a consortium in charge of the construction of the first metro system in Doha.

Simplified ticketing solutions for seamless travel - TransCity

As the only supplier of nation-wide ticketing systems for public transport network operators, based on web architecture, Thales leads the way in the ticketing solutions industry. Our interoperable fare collection systems make public transport more attractive for users and more cost effective for operators. Our solution has been implemented in the city of Dubai, where you can use the same ticket for both parking and underground, and also on the North South Railway in Saudi Arabia.

Bringing the cities of the future - Smart City Experience

By operating transport and security infrastructure in a sustainable fashion, Thales implements solutions for a Smart City. These take integration to the next stage, leveraging concepts such as interoperability and connectivity for a better quality of life.

Preparing the future through our academic partnerships

Thales has developed several training academies in the region. Memorandums of Understanding for the creation of academies have been signed in the UAE and in Egypt with the objective of supporting the transfer of transportation capabilities.
