Dubai, UAE - Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has revealed preparations for its participation in this year's edition of the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX 2016), which will be held during from 16-20 October 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. DEWA's stand number is S2-D1, which is part of the Dubai Smart Government's pavilion, a city-wide initiative to transform Dubai into the world's smartest and happiest city. DEWA is set to showcase its latest technical achievements, and the quantum leap in its smart and innovative services and initiatives to make a happy Dubai.  

"Through our participation in GITEX 2016, we are keen to ensure the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make the UAE one of the most innovative countries in the world. We intend to provide an innovative and high-quality experience for visitors to introduce them to DEWA's new smart services, initiatives and projects in a new interactive way. Our participation in GITEX 2016 reflects our commitment to communicate directly with our customers to get them acquainted with our latest achievements," said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

Coinciding with the upcoming event, DEWA has launched its smart services campaign, to increase its customers' use of its smart initiatives, and encourage them to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. The campaign gives customers a chance to win valuable prizes, through raffle draws that will be presented to ten winners with a total value of UAE 150,000. There will also be daily raffle draws for 40 winners; 30 for customers using services through DEWA's smart app and website, and 10 prizes for lucky visitors.

Customers who pay their full electricity and water bills for three consecutive months starting from July 2016 will be eligible for the raffle draw. The draw will take place in October 2016 as part of DEWA's activities at GITEX 2016. Bills should be paid through smart payment channels like DEWA's smart app, website, and smart payment channels of Dubai Smart Government; such as payment through mobile phones (mPay), DubaiNow app, in addition to several banking smart payment channels like ATMs, banks' applications and websites, in addition to Etisalat payment machines.

Daily raffle draws will cover customers who completed their transactions (not including paying bills) via DEWA's smart app and website (www.dewa.gov.ae) between January 2016 and September 2016. Customers who visit DEWA's stand No. S2-D1 and install DEWA's app, register for its smart services, or complete any smart transaction via its smart app (not including paying bills), will be eligible for the daily raffle draws.
