Dubai Economy (DED) has announced several measures on its Twitter feed for commercial establishments to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Businesses have been told not to offer sales and promotions and there should not be a return and exchange policy for products sold. Social distancing stickers should be placed within the shop.

Customers and shopkeepers should wear masks and gloves, the DED said.

The department has been carrying out daily inspections, issuing fines and closing stores that violate the regulations.

Authorities in Dubai have been shutting down several shops for not following the rules or issuing warning for non-compliance.

On Monday, DED officials shut two more shops and issued warning to another 81 outlets for violating safety and precautionary regulations.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Sunday announced 564 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

The ministry also announced 99 new cases of recovery and seven deaths.
