DUBAI- The rate of serious crimes in Al Muraqqabat Police Station jurisdiction area fell by two percent last year compared to year before.

This was announced during an inspection visit by Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, and Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant to the Commander-in-chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs at Dubai Police, to Al Muraqqabat Police Station.

Al Marri, accompanied by a number of senior officers, was greeted by Brigadier Ali Ghanim, Director of Al Muraqqabat Police Station, and a number of officers. He inspected the readiness of the staff as well as services provided, and expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the police station and the initiatives launched to raise awareness among residents in the area. Al Marri also lauded the police station’s efforts in reducing road accidents to 217 last year compared to 255 the year before. He also praised the police station’s efforts in organising awareness campaigns on the dangers of speeding, jaywalking, not leaving a safe distance between vehicles and sudden swerving.

Al Muraqqabat police station settled cases involving bounced cheques worth AED705 million last year compared to AED669 million in 2017, thus solving financial disputes amicably between the parties, reducing the number of bounced cheque cases to protect the debtors' rights and ensuring that their money is restored.

Furthermore, Al Marri also reviewed the workflow and the police station’s future plans, calling upon staff members to fulfil their job requirements in a timely and accurate manner, streamline customers’ transactions, and to improve business quality and performance in order to upgrade work standards to the highest levels.
