in Abu Dhabi announced that it has commenced the preparation of guidelines for the implementation of the new decree issued by The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, regarding the new traffic toll system in Abu Dhabi.
A comprehensive study is underway, aimed at identifying and demarcating areas subject to the toll. It will determine the value of the toll, specify its technical aspects, as well as times of operation prior to submitting it to the Executive Council for approval.

Khalifa Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary at the Department of Transport, said that the toll is in line with the comprehensive road transport plan aiming at providing prime transportation services to road users. The tolls are aimed at lessening traffic and easing congestion along major motorways.
