dusitD2 Kenz Hotel launches COVID recovery campaign giving recent graduates the opportunity to kickstart their careers

The hotel gives fresh graduates the chance to gain professional experience through a minimum of one-month trainee contracts

  

Dubai, United Arab Emirates—dusitD2 Kenz Hotel, a contemporary and upscale establishment located in Barsha Heights, takes on 2021 with a sequence of CSR initiatives aimed to give back to the community in Dubai as well as across the globe. After a challenging year for all individuals, dusitD2 Kenz Hotel decided to take a compassionate and selfless approach for 2021 by starting a campaign designed to help those less fortunate through charitable acts, green projects, and opportunities of employment. Ending the first quarter of the year, dusitD2 Kenz Hotel has carried out its latest initiative for young professionals looking to get their foot in the door and jumpstart their careers.

Following a year of hardships faced by all global citizens, dusitD2 Kenz Hotel began 2021 in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent for its series of monthly initiatives. January and February started off strong with a Donation Drive carried out with Dubai Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department, as well as a Cans Collection Drive in collaboration with Emirates Environmental Group. Ending March, the hotel celebrates the success of its most recent program in support of young professionals who have been struck with bad luck since the hit of the pandemic. 

dusitD2’s March initiative is the Young Talent Support, through this program the hotel has found a way to support young adults and fresh graduates to get at least a one-month trainee opportunity to gain professional experience. Through March, a number of interns have come through dusitD2 Kenz Hotel’s doors and have worked side by side with their colleagues in the F&B kitchen and restaurant, the front office, housekeeping and marketing departments. For the project, the hotel has approached Youth x Hub in Dubai for a collaborative initiative, and hopes to work alongside to recruit young talent and help add to their work experience.

Interns who have participated in the Young Talent Support initiative have shared their experience at dusit D2 and how it has aided them in their careers. Juan Reyes Prosdocimi said, “It was a very scary state for me, especially as a university student graduating in a couple of months. I was overjoyed when D2 gave me the opportunity to join the company… I was given a chance to flaunt my creative side, I had the chance to interact with the industry professionals directly, I was also given a chance to lead the team, etc. Without a doubt, I can say that this experience has made me a very confident individual with a variety of skill sets to offer.” Charlene Nicole Branzuela also shared her experience working at dusitD2 Kenz Hotel stating that, “this internship is such an eye opener for a student like me who studies tourism & hospitality management. It is very interesting to personally experience the back operations and procedures of the hotel industry, mainly the F&B department. Overall, my experience here is so worthwhile, since it has prepared me well for my future career opportunities, yet I’m still intrigued and excited to experience various departments here in this prestigious hotel and to obtain skills and experience that would be beneficial for my future profession.”
