Abu Dhabi on  Sunday,  December  8, 2019  – The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi conducted 1690 inspection campaigns on number of school buses during August, September and October. The inspection campaign targeted 118 schools as part of ITC’s endeavour to identify schools’ compliance with the school transport rules and regulations and ensure the safety of the students.

ITC plans these campaigns and implements them throughout the year. Campaigns included different schools and operators, especially who have previous violations issued against them, and they resulted in the issuing of 192 violation tickets against schools, operators, drivers and supervisors.

The campaigns conducted by ITC aim to ensure that all supervisors are qualified and hold professional license, drivers are following the traffic safety regulations and operators are complied with the rules and legislation. This will consequently result in offering a safe bus network for the students, which is a main priority of the Government. Therefore, ITC, in cooperation with its stakeholders, strives to improve the quality of services offered to create an integrated, safe and sustainable school transport network.
