Abu Dhabi – In order to improve the quality of services offered to the public bus users, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport announces that it has implemented Augmented Reality (AR) technology to display real-time bus schedules information using smart mobile devices through: https://darbi.itc.gov.ae/itc-ar/ or scanning a QR code which will be posted soon in bus shelters and ITC’s different channels. To obtain the service, users should enable camera permission, locations, motion and orientation and use chrome in android or Safari in IOS 13.5+.
AR technology enhances user’s experience by offering all real-time information and details related to public bus services. This is part of ITC’s endeavour to enhance its smart transport services and offer the public with innovative services. This technology enables public transport users to obtain real-time information about bus schedules and the time required for the bus to arrive to the bus shelter.
AR technology enhances user’s experience by adding interactive virtual objects to the user’s real world in order to provide additional information. The implementation of AR technologies comes in part of adopting accurate systems and methods that contribute in cutting down the costs of traditional methods like implementing electronic boards that require regular costly maintenance work.
