Sharjah: Sharjah Media City (Shams) signed a memorandum of understanding with Sharjah Women’s Sports with the aim of enhancing communication and cooperation between the two entities, exchanging experiences, and contributing towards delivering the vision of the government.

The memorandum was signed by H.E. Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City (Shams), and Her Excellency Nada Al Naqbi, Director General of Sharjah Women’s Sports.

H.E. Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa said, “We are happy to sign this Memorandum of Understanding with our partners in Sharjah Women’s Sports, as it reflects our commitment to the vision of the Sharjah government, to encourage cooperation and mutual support. We are pleased to collaborate with Sharjah Women’s Sports, who are dedicated to empowering women.”

Al Midfa continued, “Shams is always keen to form strategic partnerships with relevant governmental entities, in order to serve the needs of the community, whether social or economic, and to exchange knowledge and experiences between one another. This agreement falls in line with our mission to better serve the community of Sharjah and achieve our wise leadership’s vision.”

From her side, Her Excellency Nada Al Naqbi, praised the agreement. She highlighted that the memorandum comes within the framework of Sharjah Women’s Sports’ strategy to develop partnerships with entities throughout the emirate, as part of its mission to enhance its services and elevate women’s sports within society.

Her Excellency said, “The memorandum includes many ideas that serve both parties which can benefit us by promoting the culture of women’s sport to all segments of society. There is no doubt that exchanging knowledge and ideas with Shams will have a positive impact on both employees and leadership in both the media and sports fields. The agreement falls in line with the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of Sharjah Women’s Sport, to build sustainable and strategic partnerships that achieve joint work and contribute to society.”

She continued, “The Foundation will provide many sports services that cater to and benefit the employees of Shams, with the hope of attracting more women to participate in sports experiences and having a positive impact on public health by promoting a healthier lifestyle.”
