Muscat, Oman:A delegation of ten Pakistan companies endorsed by the Embassy of Pakistan under the banner of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will be showcasing various food products such as rice, oil, honey, confectionery and bakery items for the first time at the 14th Food & Hospitality Oman exhibition, which will be open to food and hospitality professionals from October 14 to 16, Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The confirmation of a Pakistan pavilion follows the recent signing ceremony that took place at the Embassy of Pakistan, Muscat, between officials from organizer Omanexpo represented by Exhibition Director Ammar Ahmad and Chargé d’Affaires of the Pakistan Embassy Kiran Akber.

Ahmad says “We are delighted to welcome Pakistan as a pavilion to the event. Their presence and participation is proof of the growing and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. It will, as well, do much to encourage increased business with local buyers and trade partners and offer more opportunities for businesses and companies.”

Speaking of the strong relations between the two countries, Ms. Kiran comments, “Oman and Pakistan have always shared a strong and friendly economic and political relationship. Geographically, we are placed at strategic points from each other which lends itself to diverse trade and investment opportunities and this is something we have and are always willing to explore more through various projects.”

“Oman’s food and hospitality industries are growing with numerous food chains, restaurant and hotels being constructed across the country. This is the right time for Pakistan exporters to come and explore the market and forge deals with businesses and companies,” she adds.

Omanexpo raises the bar yet again in this year’s edition, introducing new culinary competitions such as the Waiters’ Race and Bedmaking Competition in its bid to open up

more avenues and opportunities for the entire hospitality supply chain. This is apart from its

already-established Oman Barista Competition, Battle of the Burgers, and its signature Professional Chefs Competition. The event will also play host to 2018 World Barista Champion Agnieszka Rojes, who will display her world-class coffee making and brewing skills through demonstrations on the last day.

For three days, the event will also be a showcase of about 600 local and international brands from leading exporters of food and hospitality products, services and equipment. A free-to-attend conference on food safety will provide relevant insights and current information by key industry players and experts.

Food and Hospitality Oman’s partner and supporter lineup includes Omani Products, Madayn, Riyada (Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development), Oman Chefs Guild, India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Department of Trade and Industry, South Africa, and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Welbilt, Trade Links and Services, McCain, Oman Tourism College, Paramount Food Service Equipment Solutions, La Marquise International, Renaissance and National Hospitality Institute.
