King Abdullah Economic City, KSA: The Prince Mohammed Bin Salman College of Business and Entrepreneurship (MBSC) has announced the launch of the MBSC Case Center. The Center will develop and disseminate regionally relevant business case studies with a focus on Saudi Arabia and is the first of its kind in the Kingdom.
Established to reinforce MBSC’s student-centric approach and sharpen students’ understanding of the local and regional business environment, the Center positions MBSC as a world-class business school. It currently has more than 100 case studies in its repository focusing on local and regional start-ups as well as established businesses and industries and captures key developments in the Kingdom’s drive to realize the goals of Vision 2030.
Through its upcoming workshops, the Center will encourage the local academic community to contribute towards the growth of region-centric knowledge. MBSC has also established the region’s first case-dissemination platform to promote knowledge-sharing and provide institutions, companies and individuals access to high-quality, premier case studies and contribute to regional thought leadership in the fields of business and entrepreneurship.
Dr Zeger Degraeve, Dean of the MBSC, said “At MBSC, we pioneer by aligning case studies with the college’s priority areas in strategic research. By capitalizing on the research skills of our faculty, we seek to drive impact with quality input. Through its continued growth in the years to come, the Center will significantly contribute towards the school’s goal of developing a new generation of transformative leaders who think creatively and act boldly.”
Tariq Makhtoom, Interim Head of External Relations at MBSC, commented: “High-quality local and regional case studies allow us to enhance the curriculum’s content, draw wisdom from the local context, and ensure that education is shaped by the needs of the local labor market. The Center endeavors to inspire students by adopting an analytical thinking mindset and entrepreneurial leadership.”
Several public and private sector entities have already reached out to enhance their training and development with case studies developed by the Center. The recent appointment of Munawwar Ahmed to head the Center underlines the institution’s commitment to collaborating with industry partners and academic establishments worldwide to foster entrepreneurship and accelerate the Kingdom’s journey towards the top echelon of nations creating a global impact.
