- Rapid growth taking place as MEA EdTech market set to double to $7.6 billion
Leading global EdTech, Cuemath - a one-on-one personalised math learning platform backed by Google - announces it has now reached the milestone of over 180,000 UAE students enrolled on its platform.
Cuemath has achieved explosive growth in the UAE since its launch in June 2021 – delivering more than a 600% increase in student enrolment.
The growth takes place as the Middle East and Africa (‘MEA’) EdTech and smart classroom market is forecast to double to $7.6 billion by 2027, according to recent market research from Report Linker. When the Google-backed EdTech formally launched in the UAE after a successful pilot, positive word-of-mouth referrals initially led to 25,000 students enrolling on the platform, with the highest demand coming from students in grades three to seven.
Children and young people under the age of 24 years currently represent nearly half of the MEA population, presenting a significant opportunity for the EdTech revolution to have a visible impact on education in the region.
With many different nationalities living in the UAE – and residents from almost every other country in the world – the explosive growth is indicative of Cuemath’s global appeal in line with its rapid international expansion.
Manan Khurma, Founder and Chairman of Cuemath, commented:
“We are thrilled so many students in the UAE are recognising the value of Cuemath’s unique learning methods, further solidifying our commitment to the Middle East. As innovations in education continue to take place globally, we are proud to be contributing to the transformation of the education landscape in the region.
“Our recent student survey revealed students in the UAE to be among the most stressed about math, with a quarter reporting to have a negative perception of their math skills. Our proprietary methodology challenges old-school teaching practices, by using gamification and visual learning to make math concepts more accessible and enjoyable. We hope to continue to inspire students in the UAE to become the next generation of problem solvers.”
Cuemath’s mission is to make maths more fun for its students. Using experiential learning methods, it takes a three-pronged approach including school maths (workbooks and unlimited practice), mental aptitude, and creative learning. It is this blend of conceptual clarity, and games to improve math, that learners seek out Cuemath’s programmes.
Cuemath has students from over 20 countries including the United Kingdom, United States, Singapore, Canada, Egypt, Nigeria, India and Thailand. The program is led by over 10,000 teachers - over 90 percent of which are female - who are ex-academics, doctors, investment bankers, lawyers, botanists, food technologists and accountants.
