UAE - The General Secretariat of the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC) has launched its redesigned ‘Dubai Legislation Portal’ at GITEX Technology Week 2018 being held under the theme “Experience Urban Futurism.’ The new portal contains a comprehensive database of all legislation issued in Dubai from 1961 up until 2018. The portal content will be regularly updated upon releasing new issues of the Government of Dubai Official Gazette. Lunching the website is aligned with Dubai’s smart transformation and its efforts to promote and disseminate legislative knowledge through latest technology and innovative solutions.

The ‘Dubai Legislation Portal' is launched as part of the SLC General Secretariat's efforts to provide high-quality smart and innovative legislative services in line with the objective of the Dubai 10X initiative to position Dubai 10 years ahead of other cities worldwide. The new portal features a smart search engine that will improve search performance and facilitate access to the smart and integrated legislative services designed to bring happiness to all users.

His Excellency Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar, SLC Secretary General, said: “The redesigned portal reflects our commitment to creativity, innovation, and excellence in legislative work to establish a creative model for cities of the future. This is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve the objectives of the Dubai 10X initiative. With the constant guidance of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the SLC, we will continue to develop the legislative and legal systems by adopting the latest technological and smart solutions to boost Dubai’s comprehensive and sustainable development plans.”

Khalid Al Suwaidi, Head of the Information Technology Section of the SLC’s General Secretariat, said: “The new ‘Dubai Legislation portal’ launched during GITEX Technology Week 2018 supports the emirate’s smart transition efforts in line with the Smart Government initiative. This step reflects the SLC’s keenness to enhance its performance and deliver high-quality services that meet the public's aspirations. In particular, the new portal is a strategic platform built to the highest global web design standards in line with the UAE Government vision to improve government performance and services with a view to bringing happiness to all users.

Al Suwaidi added: “We launched the first phase of the project earlier, and the second and more advanced version of the website will be developed next year with new features added. The portal will improve the experience of users and increase their satisfaction as they tap our smart services. By launching the portal, we aim to enhance the legislative and legal systems and support Dubai’s overall development march.”

The ‘Dubai Legislation Portal' includes a range of services and interactive features, including a search function that enables users to search Dubai legislation in both Arabic and English, and browsing functions that provide access to the Dubai Official Gazette, legal opinions, and other content.
