In light of how social media platforms have gone from being an entertainment extra to becoming an integral part of nearly every aspect of work and daily life, triggered by the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the Sharjah International Book Fair 2020 (SIBF) being organised by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) from November 4 – 14, has announced its social media activities for this edition with a number of virtual workshops focused on social media learning catering to all age groups.

From workshops teaching the basic techniques of social media storytelling and the creation of podcasts to those that demystify the process that goes into the creation of marketing strategies, the sessions will cover a wide range of subjects that appeal to media professionals, students of media arts as well as social media enthusiasts.

These workshops will be delivered virtually on SBA’s newly designed ‘Sharjah Reads’ platform. Those interested in attending the online sessions, can register via sharjahreads.com.

The social media workshops include, but are not limited to, the following:

The social media workshops for SIBF 2020 have been designed to enable users to leverage the power of digital technologies and platforms to enhance their professional output as well as their personal life.

Being held under the theme, ‘The World Reads from Sharjah’, the 39th edition of the SIBF has adopted a fully digital format for the 64 unique events that will be streamed on SBA’s virtual platform over the 11 days of the fair.
