Abu Dhabi: Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is showcasing a full range of services on the Department of Health stand at Arabian Travel Market this week, as part of its ongoing support for the integrated effort to make Abu Dhabi a leading destination for medical tourism.

Since opening its doors in 2015, the pioneering hospital has developed a global reputation for cutting-edge surgery and welcomed increasing volumes of international patients seeking complex and critical care. The hospital saw an increase of more than 16 percent in the number of international patients in 2018 and is seeing even stronger growth this year.

The hospital is one of a number of major healthcare providers participating in Arabian Travel Market to promote Abu Dhabi’s medical tourism offering for international patients.

“A major part of our strategy for ensuring sustainable growth lies in being able to treat a growing population of international patients at the same time as providing comprehensive services for people in the UAE,” explains Sara Al Sharouqi, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. “Working alongside our partners in Abu Dhabi and leveraging the resources of the global Cleveland Clinic network, we’re able to ensure that patients receive immediate attention from North American Board certified (or equivalent) doctors.”

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s international patient services team provides a seamless experience for patients who choose Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi for their specialized medical care. The hospital employs dedicated ‘patient ambassadors’ to guide international patients through every step of their journey, including greeting them on arrival and providing medical interpretation services.

The hospital provides state-of-the art complex and critical care services, treating some of the region’s sickest patients. It has performed a number of UAE and regional firsts, including the UAE’s first heart, liver and lung transplants from deceased donors as well as breakthrough cardiovascular, neurological and digestive disease procedures. The hospital recently broke ground on construction of a dedicated oncology center that will provide patients with comprehensive, personalized cancer care.

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is one of the foundation partners of the Abu Dhabi Medical Tourism e-portal, a digital platform that enables visitors to Abu Dhabi to access a full range of medical services. Through the e-portal, visitors can access medical tourism insurance packages, visa support, appointment booking, hotels, and transportation.
