Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain – Microsoft today announced that Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), The home of motorsport in the Middle East, has successfully migrated its core business and financial systems to the trusted, versatile, intelligent Microsoft Cloud.
Bahrain International Circuit became the first motor-racing venue in the Middle East to host the Formula 1 World Championship back in 2004 and continues to host top tier motor racing and events throughout the year. In addition to its celebrated F1 race, BIC hosts around 400 events every year, including international, regional, and local racing, corporate events, conferences and car launches.
In collaboration with Microsoft’s systems integration partner ACME, BIC migrated key business functions such as financials, supply chain, and procurement to Microsoft’s cloud-based Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, while the HR, and payroll models are in progress as well. The implementation, described by BIC stakeholders as a seamless and smooth migration resulting in near zero down times, involved total data migration and configuration to Bahraini localisation.
The solution was designed and deployed in line with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) of Bahrain’s Cloud-First Policy, in which the kingdom’s leadership calls for the modernisation of ICT through cloud-computing services to reduce costs, increase security and productivity, and develop excellent citizen services.
“We were able to achieve enhanced productivity from an always-on solution that lived in the cloud,” said Sanjeewa Karunatilake, Finance Director, Bahrain International Circuit. “The Dynamics 365 cloud platform helped deliver a twin boost to both team performance and productivity through real time data analysis and reporting capabilities supercharged by advanced visualisation tools offered by Microsoft PowerBI technology. We also make significant costs savings because of less complexity in management and maintenance, along with faster turnarounds and upgrades.”
Trusted Microsoft partner Almoayyed Computers Middle East (ACME) supported BIC in its implementation of Dynamics 365.
