Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Canal Bank posted a 12% year-on-year profit growth during the first half of 2019.

The lender logged a profit of EGP 235.4 million in the January-June period of 2019, compared to EGP 210.05 million in the year-ago period, according to a statement to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) on Wednesday.

Year-on-year, the bank’s net interest income increased to EGP 620.8 million in H1-19, compared to EGP 415.5 million.

As for the second quarter of 2019, Suez Canal Bank’s profit rose to EGP 106.9 million from EGP 94.78 million in Q2-18.

During the three-month period ended 31 March, the bank reported a profit of EGP 128.57 million, compared to EGP 115.27 million in the year-ago period.
