BAGHDA - Iraq has procured 883,122 tonnes of wheat from local farmers in nine provinces during this year's harvest season, Trade Minister Mohammed Hashim al-Aani said in a statement on Thursday.
The government has paid farmers more than 63 billion Iraqi dinars ($53 million), the minister said.
