Australian-Lebanese radio presenter Kris Fade is the latest recipient of the UAE's coveted Golden Visa.

The star of eponymous breakfast radio show "The Kris Fade Show" took to social media on Friday to celebrate the event.

"Truly honoured to receive the Golden Visa from this amazing country," he wrote in a post on Instagram.

"Leaving Australia 12 years ago to try my luck in a city I didn't know too much about was scary, but as Dubai and the UAE does, it makes you feel welcomed, makes you feel safe," reminisced the musician, who is one of the most recognisable faces — and voices — on the local media scene.

"Thank you to the UAE leaders and their vision. This Gold Visa is the cherry on top (sic)."

The UAE first introduced the long-term residency visa scheme in 2019. The system enables foreigners to live, work and study in the UAE without the need of a national sponsor and with 100 per cent ownership of their business on the UAE’s mainland.

These visas are issued for 5 or 10 years and will be renewed automatically.

Last year, it extended the classes of professions of those who are eligible for the scheme.
