Trucks are banned from entering Abu Dhabi roads due to the weather conditions, the Dubai Police announced on Sunday.

This step aims to promote traffic safety during foggy weather conditions and reduce the number of traffic accidents. The Dubai Police called on motorists to drive with caution and follow the traffic rules.

Motorists were urged to take caution as fog covered many parts of the country on Sunday morning, bringing visibility to less than 1,000 metres.

To maintain visibility when driving in foggy weather, avoid using high-beam lights. Use lowlights and use the windshield wipers to remove the humidity from the front window.

National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a fog alert and Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to drive carefully and reduce speed.
