Opening Ceremony tickets go live for Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019

ABU DHABI - Tickets have been released for the highly anticipated Opening Ceremony of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.

The Opening Ceremony will take place at Zayed Sports City Stadium on Thursday 14th March from 17:00 and is set to be a spectacular celebration of humanity at its brilliant best.

Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi will be the largest sports and humanitarian event in the world in 2019. From 14th to 21st March, with over 7,500 athletes and 3,000 coaches, representing more than 190 nations, will participate in 24 officially sanctioned Olympic-style sports in world-class venues throughout Abu Dhabi and Dubai.? More than 40,000 spectators at Zayed Sports City and millions of viewers worldwide are expected to celebrate the official start of the World Games in less than 30 days’ time. Spectators will witness the largest number of nations take part in a parade at a Special Olympics Opening Ceremony as each athlete prepares to showcase their sporting talent on a global stage.

The athletes will be accompanied by a number of international celebrities and sporting heroes who are passionate about driving the Special Olympics movement forward.

The Opening Ceremony will be broadcast live from Zayed Sports City to millions of viewers across the world by the Official World Games Broadcast Partners, ESPN and Abu Dhabi TV, under the umbrella of local media partner, Abu Dhabi Media.

The first ever Special Olympics World Games to be held in the Middle East and North Africa will also be the most unified Games in the 50-year history of the Special Olympics movement, with inclusion of people of determination with intellectual disabilities in every aspect of the event.
