MANAMA: The Cabinet has praised the progress made by the National Vaccination Campaign.

High vaccine uptake and a strong commitment to precautionary measures is the path to overcoming Covid-19, the weekly session noted yesterday, on the occasion of World Vaccination Week.

The meeting was chaired remotely by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister.

The Cabinet’s call came as Covid-19 fatalities in the kingdom rose to 600 yesterday.

The session praised the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (BCCI) efforts to stimulate commercial activities, and instructed the formation of a working group to follow up on recommendations made by the Joint Economic Committee – chaired by the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister.

The Cabinet extended its condolences to the Egyptian President, government and people following a passenger train collision in Qalubia Province.

The weekly session also approved a number of memorandums.

Meanwhile, BCCI chairman Sameer Nass said the chamber will harness all its capabilities to enhance commercial and economic development and support His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Prime Minister’s efforts to achieve further progress and prosperity for the kingdom.

He praised the Cabinet’s instructions to form a working group as part of efforts to address challenges facing business sectors due to Covid-19.

Bahrain’s business community supports all directives and measures endorsed by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Prime Minister aiming to protect the private sector and boost its role in spurring economic growth, he said.

He also reiterated the chamber’s appreciation of HRH Prince Salman’s supportive stances, which he described as a source of pride for the commercial and industrial community in Bahrain.
