RIYADH — The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, in accordance to the Public Health Authority "Weqaya" recommendations, has confirmed on Tuesday that it is necessary to continue to apply social distance protocols between worshipers in mosques.

The statement came according to the ministry in order to preserve peoples' health, as all ages and people with different health conditions enter mosques.

The ministry also noted that there is no place or any person in mosques to check the health status through the “Tawakalna” application, which may require a great effort to preserve the health of worshipers.

"We are constantly following up with the concerned authorities regarding instructions for precautionary measures as we ensure the safety of worshipers in mosques," the ministry said.

The ministry warned against rumors regarding precautionary measures, noting the importance of taking the information from official sources.

The ministry's statement came in accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Interior to ease precautionary measures, and to allow people to move outdoors without either wearing masks or maintaining social distancing.
