Bahraini students accepted in American universities for the coming academic semester will not be issued student visas if their universities decide to implement online learning.

According to a statement issued by the Bahrain Cultural Office in Washington, new Bahraini students accepted at American universities will not be issued F1 Student visas if their universities opt for online learning due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The US Immigration and Customs Directorate will also not issue a Form I-20 – a certificate of eligibility for non-immigrant student status – which allows the students to enter the US.

The cultural office urged new students to communicate with their universities to postpone their study and travel to the US in case education is completely moved online.
