Muscat: The Public Prosecution has warned employers against leaving an expat resident to work for another person.

In a statement issued by the Public Prosecution, the offense is punishable by imprisonment for one month and a fine of OMR 1,000.

”Dear citizens and residents, leaving a non Omani employee to work for another person by the employer is an offense punishable by imprisonment for one month and fine of OMR 1,000.”

“The sentence is multiplied by the number of violating employees,” the statement added

 
The Public Prosecution said also:”Working without a permit from the concerned authorities by an expat or working for someone other than his licensed employer is an offense punishable by imprisonment for one month and a fine of OMR 800 with deportation from the country and denying access to the country.”
