Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower on Sunday has announced restrictions on hiring expat workers as water truck drivers. This action is taken to provide more job options to Omanis.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Bakri, the Minister of Manpower said that only Omanis can work as a driver of water transport trucks .The deadline given to expat workers is April 30th, 2020.
A statement issued by Manpower to General manager of employment, general managers in governorates, and managers of manpower directorates said: “His Excellency the Minister of Manpower has ordered to replace expat workers and replace them with citizens according to the ministerial decision No ( 2004/ 216).”
“Citizens can find the placements through the National Employment Center,” statement added.
