MANAMA, BAHRAIN: Solidarity Bahrain B.S.C., one of the largest insurance companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, a subsidiary of Solidarity Group Holding, launched Bahrain’s first Insurance Hackathon “Insurathon” in partnership with University of Bahrain (UOB). The Insurathon had over 150 participants from different colleges and different qualification backgrounds. 

The Insurathon took place on the 11th, 12th, and 13th of April at the UOB’s campus. The event started with a welcoming note from Jawad Mohammed, CEO of Solidarity who introduced the Insurathon program tackling the main challenges facing the insurance industry in Bahrain and globally.

The event included intensive training and mentorship sessions where participating students presented their innovative ideas and solutions to the judging panel which consisted of top senior officials from Solidarity and UOB.

On this occasion, Jawad Mohammed stated: “We are justifiably proud by the success of the first insurance hackathon and by the number and quality of the innovative solutions proposed by the university students.” He also stated: “The goal of Solidarity’s Insurathon is to engage with and involve the students in leading the digital transformation of the insurance industry in Bahrain” He also added: “The Insurathon is set to take place yearly, reflecting our strong commitment towards corporate social responsibility, aiming at improving the skills and knowledge of the students in order to create a sustainable innovation to the insurance industry.”
