Massive fire erupts in holy city of Makkah

A massive fire swept through the holy city of Makkah, burning trees on Amad Mountain, authorities reported on Thursday.

According to a statement tweeted today, teams of Civil Defence in Al Taif city are battling to control the blaze.

In a video posted by Makkah region authority, the flames can be seen covering a big area of the mountain.

The Saudi Civil Defence added that no injuries were reported so far.
